Webinar [EN]: Digital Tools in Agriculture Perceptions and Barriers to Adoption

On April 15, 2025, the D4AgEcol, Path2Dea and ReForest projects hosted the second and final webinar in the Digitalisation Series of the Digital Agroecology Cluster. The event brought together over 70 participants from across Europe and beyond to explore the real-world challenges and opportunities surrounding digital tools in agriculture. The session focused on the perceptions and barriers to adoption of digital technologies in agroecological and agroforestry systems. With an interactive format, participants engaged in live questions and shared experiences—highlighting the value of inclusive, cross-project collaboration for sustainable farming. Key presentations were given by: • Evangelia Mourmoura (DG AGRI) – The EU’s digital vision for agriculture and early insights from a new EU-wide farmer survey • Elias Maritan (D4AgEcol) – Evaluating digital tools through real-world case studies in four European systems • Evelyn Reinmuth (Path2Dea) – What farmers really need: lessons from co-creation workshops and showcase farms • Tom Staton (ReForest) – Tools in action: FarmTree and the Public Goods Tool in Living Labs Moderated by Martin Lukac, coordinator of the ReForest project, the webinar showcased how collaboration between research, policy, and practice can support a fairer, greener digital transition in agriculture.
